The Kansas Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service was designed to help you find an attorney. There is no charge to be referred, but our participating attorneys do charge fees. The fees are established by each individual attorney.

To submit your referral, simply complete the form below. If an attorney is available, that attorney will contact you. After you submit your request, there is no additional step. If you are not sure which category to select, please select "Other. I don’t see my issue listed" at the bottom of the list. Please include at least a phone number and email in the contact information.

If you are not contacted by an attorney within 7-10 days of submitting your referral request, we were not able to find an attorney. Not all Kansas attorneys participate in the KBA LRS program. Please continue searching outside of our service while we are also assisting with finding an attorney.

The KBA does not provide pro bono or reduced fee referral services. If you need free or low-cost civil legal assistance, please contact Kansas Legal Services. 316-267-3975. If you have a civil legal question and do not need to retain an attorney at this point, you might try https://kansas.freelegalanswers.org.

Please provide a brief description (a few sentences) of your legal issue.

  • Include dates and times. When did this take place? Was it over a period of time? If so, include the date it started and ended. If a court date is pending, please include that date and time.
  • If you have a case number, please include it.
  • Where did this take place? What city/county?
  • Has anything been done to address the situation? For example, if it is an employment issue, please include any attempts by you or your employer to address the situation. Have you provided or received anything in writing?
  • Include the name and location of the opposing party. For example, if it is hospital or physician, include the name(s) and locations of both. Are you related to the opposing party? If so, include what that relationship is and if the opposing party has an attorney. Not including the name of the opposing party may prevent your request from being processed. 

Note: Providing details will help us determine the next step. Delays in processing your request will occur if we do not have enough information. KBA LRS attorneys charge fees. Please do not submit a request if you need pro bono or reduced fee services.
