In an effort to address the growing need for pro bono representation, the Kansas Bar Association and Kansas Legal Services are teaming up to host a special event focused on growing the number of and better coordination among all pro bono providers in Kansas. The "Pro Bono Summit: Partnerships in the Public Interest” will be held from 2-5 p.m. on December 17 at the Kansas Bar Association in Topeka. The keynote speaker for this event is Justice Dan Biles of the Kansas Supreme Court.
The KBA and KLS will bring together attorneys, judges, law firm pro bono coordinators, committee and university pro bono chairs, law students and others interested in participating in a forum and reception to address the pro bono need in Kansas and to celebrate those that have volunteered to help meet that need. Summit topics include what a broad pro bono partnership program in Kansas can accomplish, new issues and programs in pro bono, and the benefits gained by individual attorneys and firms providing pro bono.
