Meg Marchant Wickham was initially hired October 12, 2004 as a CLE program planner at the KBA. She was promoted to Public Services manager; promoted again to Member Services director; and yet again to Director of Member & Communication Services.

Meg brings an effervescence and sparkle unlike any other to the positions she has held over the years.

Her colleagues have hilarious stories and memories of Meg, beginning when Deana Mead was her supervisor in CLE. Early morning ventures in the freezing cold to the Plaza Lights CLE will always rank high on the list, as will listening to Delilah on the radio on Friday evening car rides, zooming back to Topeka after a CLE.

The KBA team has watched Meg’s beautiful daughters, Madeline and Molly, grow into strong, accomplished women in their own rights; both are blessed with their Mom’s outrageous sense of humor—and maybe some drama! While working for the KBA, Meg married her husband Scott, and he has been warmly embraced by staff for his kindness and humor.

Empty nesters now, Meg and Scott are owned by their dogs, Sammy Hagar—the 160-lb. Saint Bernard, and Ziggy Stardust—the beautiful Australian Shepherd. For many years, the house was ruled by Liza Minelli—the loving but neurotic Basset Hound (RIP).

Meg is a skilled weaver and knitter, and loves all things crafty. She also makes lovely, richly scented soaps and other products. You can find her at different venues, making her home-produced items available under the name Knotty Basset (the name comes from a situation involving the late Liza Minelli. The Basset. Not the singer. But that’s another story….)

Meg. An integral, vital and indefatigable member of the KBA Staff. Happy 15th!
