The Kansas Bar Foundation announces the dedication of the Robert L. Gernon Law Center
November 16, 2017
Friday, November 17, 2017, The Kansas Bar Foundation will dedicate the building that houses the Kansas Bar Foundation (KBF) and the Kansas Bar Association (KBA) as the Robert L. Gernon Law Center.
A formal dedication ceremony is set for Friday, November 17, 4:00-6:30 pm at 1200 SW Harrison, Topeka, Kan. Press is encouraged to attend. The Topeka High School Drumline will open the event, and speakers will begin at 4:30 pm. Speakers include: Jordan Yochim, Executive Director of the KBA and KBF; Todd N Thompson, Past-President of the KBF; Hon. Evelyn Z. Wilson, President of the KBF; Hon. Lee A. Johnson, Kansas Supreme Court Justice; Rebecca and Kristin Gernon, Justice Gernon’s daughters.
The Kansas Law Center will now be formally named the Robert L. Gernon Law Center thanks to a generous donation by the Gernon family and gifts to the Gernon Fund from members of the legal community, that have allowed us to retire the mortgage on the building.
Justice Robert L. Gernon lost his battle with cancer in 2005. His impact on the legal community was immense.
