KBA to sponsor welcome reception for newly sworn-in Kansas attorneys

Topeka, Kan. (Sept. 28, 2017)—The Kansas Bar Association will host a welcome reception Friday, Sept. 29, to honor the new admittees to the Kansas Bar.
The reception will be held immediately following both swearing-in ceremonies scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m at the Kansas Judicial Center, located at 301 SW 10th Ave. in Topeka. Swearing-in will take place in the Supreme Court courtoom, and the reception will be held in the main lobby of the Judicial Center.
Chief Justice Lawton R. Nuss, of the Kansas Supreme Court, will preside over the ceremony; Judge Daniel Crabtree will represent the U.S. District Court. Doug Shima, clerk of the Kansas Supreme Court, will administer the Kansas Oath, and Timothy O’Brien, clerk of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, will administer the Federal Oath. KBA members Donald N. Peterson II of Wichita, and Christina L. Holland of Kansas City, will present the newly admitted attorneys to the Court.
Members of the media are invited to attend; names of new admittees will be available after the ceremony.
