Warner is a principal at Thompson Ramsdell Qualseth & Warner, P.A., in Lawrence, where she practices civil litigation with a focus on resolving business, insurance, and constitutional disputes. She also teaches Conflict of Laws and Appellate Practice as an adjunct professor at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka. Before going into private practice, Warner worked in the chambers of the Michigan and Kansas Supreme Courts. Most notably, immediately following graduation from law school, Sarah worked for 3½ years as Chambers Counsel to the Honorable Robert E. Davis, Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court.

In 2015, Warner received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Kansas Bar Association, upon finishing her term as president of the 1500+ Young Lawyers Section members. Warner serves on the Executive Committee of the KBA Board of Governors and as Governor for District 2, as president of the KBA Appellate Practice Section, and on various other KBA committees. She is a fellow of the Kansas Bar Foundation. Outside the KBA, Warner serves as President-Elect for the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel (for civil defense attorneys) and is Immediate Past President of the Douglas County Bar Association.
