The Supreme Court’s decisions in Moncrieffe and Descamps has caused much confusion for immigration attorneys.  This session will be a step by step guide on how to apply the Supreme Court’s logic in analyzing criminal statutes in determining immigration consequences.

Genevra Alberti is an immigration attorney for The Clinic, a nonprofit removal defense organization in Kansas City.  Her practice focuses on representing noncitizens in immigration court.  Genevra received her J.D. in May 2011 from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, and is licensed in Kansas and Missouri.

Michael Sharma-Crawford has been representing non-citizens since 2002. His practice has led him to defend non-citizens in front of the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals and various Courts of Appeal. In 2012 he and his partner Rekha Sharma-Crawford founded The Clinic, a non-profit removal defense law office dedicated to providing quality representation to indigent non-citizens.
