The CLE will address several key employment and labor law issues, including Human Resources compliance and documentation, applicable federal and state laws (i.e., KAAD, ADA, ADEA), employee handbooks and the NLRA/NLRB, on-boarding and terminating, recruiting and background checks, the #MeToo Movement and LGBTQ rights. Current case law on pertinent issues as well as applicable forms and documentation will also be provided to assist attorneys with their law practices.

Solo and small firm lawyers should have a plan in place for succession and business continuity, back-up, as well as disaster. It is important we take steps to proactively protect our clients, colleges, and staff in the event something unexpected occurs. Recent ethics advisory opinions even discuss our obligation to plan, however, where do you even begin? In this program we will break down the steps lawyers should take today, to make sure they are ready for the unexpected tomorrow.
