Evictions and Landlord Issues in the Time of COVID-19

Wednesday, May 20th at Noon CDT

Once courts open, there will be a flood of eviction cases filed and additional issues that tenants may face.  The goal of this CLE is to train attorneys on general eviction law in Kansas, and the benefits granted under local and federal COVID-19 protections.

Casey Johnson is the Assistant Managing Attorney in the Kansas City office of Kansas Legal Services. He has been an attorney with Kansas Legal Services since 2013. Casey handles general civil law cases with an emphasis on saving people's housing, primarily eviction defense, foreclosure defense, and probate work. Casey lives in Shawnee with his wife, two children, and their dog, Bella.

Steve Minson is a staff attorney at Kansas Legal Services in Wichita, where his practice focuses on representing senior citizens who have been victims of crime, landlord/tenant disputes, and consumer litigation.  Before joining Kansas Legal Services, Steve practiced complex commercial litigation and legal malpractice defense in Seattle.  He also clerked for the Honorable H.
