Dodge City Attorney David Rebein Installed as President of the
Kansas Bar Association
(June 30, 2006) Topeka, KSDavid J. Rebein, Dodge City, was installed as president of the Kansas Bar Association (KBA) at a KBA Board of Governors meeting this month in Overland Park, Kansas. He succeeds Richard F. Hayse, Topeka, who completed a one-year term as president of the organization.
"I am honored to be given an opportunity to work with a great board of governors and hard-working KBA staff," said Rebein. "I look forward to continuing a 124-year tradition of service to the community and profession."
A partner of the law firm Rebein Bangerter PA, Rebein practices personal injury, commercial litigation, and complex litigation. Rebein received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Washburn University in 1977 and his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1980.
He has served on the KBA Board of Governors since 1997 when he was appointed as the District 9 representative. Rebein served in this position until 2004, served as the KBA’s vice president in 2004-05, and was the KBA’s president-elect in 2005-06.
Rebein is a Fellow of the Kansas Bar Foundation, serves on the Ethics Grievance and Bench-Bar committees, is a past member of the KBA Board of Editors and past president of the Litigation Section. He is also a member of the American, Ford-Gray County, and Southwest bar associations, American and Kansas trial lawyers associations, and Kansas Association of Defense Counsel. He was appointed to the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission in 2003.
He is a member on the KU Law Society Board of Governors, past member of the KU Law School Board of Governors, and is active in many organizations in the Dodge City area.
