Kansas Bar Association Honors Rowland for Outstanding Service
(June 10, 2003) Topeka, KSThe Kansas Bar Association (KBA) presented Robert "Robin" C. Rowland, Lawrence, with an Outstanding Service Award. Rowland was honored at an awards luncheon on June 9 in Wichita for his commitment to the legal profession in Kansas.
Rowland received his B.A. with highest distinction from the University of Kansas (KU) in 1977, his M.A. from Northwestern University in 1978, and his Ph.D. from KU in 1983. He is a professor and chair of the Department of Communications Studies at KU, where he has been a faculty member since 1987. Each year he provides support and coaching for the presenters of the KBA's Kansas Annual Survey, is a contributing author to the "KBA Appellate Practice Handbook," and has conducted numerous Continuing Legal Education programs and other training for the KBA.
The Outstanding Service Award is given for the purpose of recognizing lawyers and judges for service to the legal profession and/or the Kansas Bar Association and for recognizing nonlawyers for especially meritorious deeds or service that significantly advance the administration of justice or the goals of the legal profession and/or the KBA.
