(June 10, 2003) Topeka, KSThe Kansas Bar Association (KBA) presented KBA member John C. Peck, Lake Quivira, with an Outstanding Service Award. Peck was honored at an awards luncheon on June 9 in Wichita for his commitment to the legal profession in Kansas.
Peck grew up in Concordia, Kans., and received his degree in civil engineering from Kansas State University and his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law, Order of the Coif, in 1974. He is a professor of law and Connell Teaching Professor at the KU law school and is also special counsel for the Wichita law firm of Foulston Siefkin LLP in the firm's Overland Park office. He is an active member of the KBA, having served on the Board of Editors for the Journal of the Kansas Bar Association for more than 20 years.
The Outstanding Service Award is given for the purpose of recognizing lawyers and judges for service to the legal profession and/or the Kansas Bar Association and for recognizing nonlawyers for especially meritorious deeds or service that significantly advance the administration of justice or the goals of the legal profession and/or the KBA.
