(June 12, 2003) Topeka, KSTimothy M. O'Brien, Overland Park, was elected to his second term as the District One (Johnson County) Representative of the Kansas Bar Association (KBA) Board of Governors by the association's membership for 2003-2004.
O'Brien is a partner in the law office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon and received his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1983. He was a law clerk for Chief Judge Earl E. O'Conner from 1983 to 1985.
He co-founded the Johnson County Young Lawyers' Section and served as its first president in 1988. He served the Johnson County Bar Association as membership chairman, chair of Law Day, and as editor of The Barletter. He served on the Johnson County Bar Association Board of Directors from 1993-1996 and as trustee of the Johnson County Bar Foundation. O'Brien currently serves on the Bench-Bar Committee for the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.
