René Eichem Named KBA Communications/Marketing Director

(May 13, 2003) Topeka, KS—René Eichem, Manhattan, has been appointed communications/marketing director of the Kansas Bar Association. Eichem was formerly employed with the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Topeka, where she was director of communications.

"René brings extensive experience to the KBA," Executive Director Dennis Harwick said. "Her background, education, and expertise will be beneficial to the association's missions and goals, and I am confident that she'll enhance our communications and marketing efforts."

Eichem graduated cum laude from Kansas State University with a B.S. in journalism and mass communications/public relations and an outside concentration in English. She was also employed with University Publications at Kansas State as a writer and editor from 1989 to 1999, where she won more than 20 national and regional writing awards.

"I'm extremely pleased to be joining the Kansas Bar Association," said Eichem. "I am looking forward to working with the KBA officers, board of governors, and members of the association, which has a long tradition of effectively representing the state's legal professionals."
