Crow Named President-Elect of Kansas Bar Association

(June 12, 2003) Topeka, KS—Michael P. Crow, Leavenworth, was named president-elect of the Kansas Bar Association (KBA) yesterday at a KBA Board of Governors' meeting in Wichita. He succeeds Daniel J. Sevart, Wichita, who was named president. In 1974, Crow established a solo practice in Leavenworth; today, there are seven lawyers at the Crow Clothier & Bates firm, with offices in Leavenworth and Overland Park. He has also been the City Attorney for Tonganoxie for the past 26 years.

Crow has served on the KBA Board of Governors since 1995 and as liaison to the Ethics Grievance Committee. He is an Elder Law Hotline volunteer and a member of the KBA Lawyer Referral Service; is a member of the KBA Corporation, Banking, and Business Law and the Litigation sections; and has been a continuing legal education presenter at the KBA Annual Meeting. Crow is also a Fellow of the Kansas Bar Foundation.

Crow is past president and director of the Leavenworth County Bar Association and is a member of the American Bar Association. He previously served on the Advisory Committee on Criminal Law for the Kansas Judicial Council and is currently a member of the First Judicial District Court Nomination Commission.

From 1978-1982, Crow was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives representing the 41st District and served on the House Judiciary Committee. Crow graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 1973. He was a part-time law clerk to the Hon. Arthur J. Stanley Jr., senior judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas in Leavenworth.
