Lifetime KBA member Bob Dole will celebrate his 90th birthday on Monday, July 22. Dole served as a U.S. senator from Kansas from 1969–1996, serving part of that time as U.S. Senate majority leader, where he set a record as the longest serving Republican leader. Dole is special counsel at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Alston & Bird. He received the KBA Phil Lewis Medal of Distinction Award in 1986. To celebrate his birthday, the Dole Institute of Politics will have an afternoon of activities on July 22 to celebrate.
