The Kansas Bar Association is the largest organization in the state devoted to advancing the practice of law and improving the legal system in Kansas. The KBA is also a voluntary membership organization – in Kansas, a lawyer doesn’t have to join the bar association to practice law. So everything we do relies on the expertise and efforts of our members, all of whom join the KBA because they believe in advancing the practice of law, preserving the rule of law, and providing equal justice for all in Kansas.
The KBA provides law-related educational services and resources to schools and students, and information about Kansas laws through online and printed resources, and civic programming to the public. We provide information about the Kansas judicial branch and our legislature here and through social media.
We also offer two ways to find legal assistance for those who need it. You can search the KBA’s database of member-lawyers from across Kansas and every area of law, or call our Lawyer Referral Service at (800) 928-3111 for a guided reference from a live operator. We also partner with Kansas Legal Services to ensure access to justice for those who may not be able to afford a lawyer. The dedicated volunteer members of the KBA make all of this possible.
