|Submitting an Article to the KBA Journal|
The Journal Article Application Process (Substantive Legal Articles)
All substantive legal articles published in the Journal of the Kansas Bar Association must be approved by the Journal Board of Editors, which meets quarterly to review all proposed articles for publication. To be considered, topics must be presented by the Journal editor to the board as detailed outlines. The preferred format for the article outline is Microsoft Word; PDF is also acceptable for the outline.
If an outline is accepted, the author(s) will be notified and an editor from the board will be assigned to assist the author(s) in helping prepare the article for publication.
Artwork (Cover Art & Photos)
The substantive legal article is usually what comprises the cover for a Journal issue with a few exceptions (one exception being the July/Aug. issue has the outgoing and incoming KBA president as the cover art).
The cover is created by KBA staff, sometimes with input requested from the author(s).
A headshot photo will be required of the author(s), as well as a brief bio with their contact info.
How I Submit My Proposal?
To submit a proposed article to the board for review or for further information, please contact the editor of the Journal or call (785) 234-5696.
