The members of the KBA are no strangers to natural disasters so we know how valuable help can be. The effects of the hurricane in Texas and Louisiana are ongoing and affecting millions of people. Please follow the links below to learn what local and state bars, and the ABA are doing and how you can help.

For those KBA members who are admitted to practice in Texas and Louisiana, here is the link to volunteer to answer legal questions on the Disaster Legal Service Hotlines in those states. More information on legal services for those affected by disasters is available from the National Disaster Legal Resource Center.

And while it is natural for our members to focus on the legal needs of individuals and organizations in Harvey’s path, please don’t overlook their needs for shelter, food and clothes. If you have not done so already, please consider making a donation to the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, or other reputable relief organizations.

With thanks to you, and to the ABA, NCBP and NABE for compiling these resources.
