The Kansas Bar Association and Kansas Legal Services Inc. are teaming up to host the "Pro Bono Summit: Partnerships in the Public Interest” from 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at the KBA (1200 SW Harrison St.) in Topeka. This special event focuses on thegrowing number of legal pro bono providers in Kansas and brings together attorneys, judges, law firm pro bono coordinators, committee and university pro bono chairs, law students and other interested parties to address the pro bono need in Kansas.
Invited speakers include Justice Dan Biles of the Kansas Supreme Court, Cheryl Zalenski of the American Bar Association Center for Pro Bono, Marilyn Harp of Kansas Legal Services and attorneys from across the state to discuss how to meet the pro bono need. The KBA and KLShope to expand an understanding of current pro bono activities in Kansas and to start a discussion about how all providers can work together to share resources and ideas to address the ongoing and increasing need.
