KBA to sponsor welcome reception for new Kansas attorneys
Topeka, Kansas (September 25, 2014)—The Kansas Bar Association will host a welcome reception Friday, September 26 to honor [NUMBER] new admittees to the Kansas Bar. The reception will immediately follow the swearing-in ceremony, which is scheduled for 9:40 a.m. at the Topeka Performing Arts Center at 214 SE 8th Ave. in Topeka. KBA President Jerry Green, of Hutchison, will present the newly admitted attorneys with a complimentary, one-year membership to the KBA.
Chief Justice Lawton R. Nuss, of the Kansas Supreme Court, will preside over the swearing-in of the new Kansas attorneys. Heather L. Smith, clerk of the Kansas Supreme Court, will administer the Kansas Oath and Timothy O’Brien, clerk of the Federal Court, will administer the Federal Oath.
Representatives from Washburn University School of Law, University of Kansas School of Law, Kansas Women Attorneys Association, Women Attorneys Association of Topeka, Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, Kansas Association for Justice, and Kansas Lawyers Assistance Program will also be in attendance.
The media are invited to attend; names of new admittees will be available after the ceremony.
