Dr. Stana Martin, PhD, Mrs LTC, Inc., Liberty, Mo.

Unlike traditional health insurance where the claim process is managed by doctors and hospitals, long term care contracts rely on inexperienced family members to both file the claim and shepherd the process thru to successful completion.  This seminar is the second in a two-part series to help professionals understand how the claim process works.  It will identify how to know if a claim is likely to be successful (i.e. dose the owner meet the contract triggers), give an overview of the filing process, review how HIPAA and a DPOA work in conjunction, and identify some of the most common mistakes people make when filing a claim.
