How does Resiliency Relate to Ethics?

Resiliency is a skill that helps a person bend and bounce back rather than break when difficulties are encountered. And difficulties will be encountered in the practice of law. Failure to deal with them can result in ethical violations.

Presented by:
Anne McDonald, Kansas Lawyers Assistance Program (KALAP), Topeka

McDonald graduated from KU Law School in 1982.  She was in private practice for two years before being appointed Court Trustee in Wyandotte County.  She retired from the Trustee Office in May, 2006, and served as a Judge Pro Tem in District and Municipal Court in Wyandotte County.   She was Chair of the Kansas Bar Association Committee on Impaired Lawyers in 2000 and then was appointed to the Lawyers Assistance Program Commission when it began in 2001.  She is currently serving as the Executive Director of KALAP.
