Tuesday, December 19, 2017
Kansas Law Center, Topeka

Agenda:

11:30 A.M.   Check-in & Lunch Provided

12:00 P.M.   Ethics in Context for Practice
Sara Rust-Martin, Kansas Bar Association, Topeka
As solo and small firm practitioners, it is important to stay informed of ethical implications for our practice. In this presentation, attorneys will learn about the rule changes made by the ABA to rule 1.6 and discuss how that can impact their practice standards. Next, attorneys will learn about KRPC rules related to marketing their firms online and how to have an online presence within the scope of the professional rules. Also, attorneys will learn about ethical considerations for outsourcing parts of their practices as they want to focus more on the important part of client interaction. And, finally, attorneys will learn about maintaining the integrity of the profession through scenarios and rule discussion points.
