Searching Several Words (Equivalent to an OR)

Searching several words (equivalent to an OR) is simple; rather than including the word “or” in your search criteria, just enter the search words within parenthesis ( ) and separate the words with a comma but no spaces.

  1. To find anything related to proximate or cause, enter (proximate, cause)
  2. To narrow your search results to include cases with DNA, enter (proximate, cause) DNA
  3. To narrow your search results to include cases with DNA but to exclude cases dealing with injuries, enter (proximate, cause) DNA –injur* (asterisk invokes the suffix expansion)
