Narrowing Search Results Using Proximity Drop Down Menu

You can narrow your search results by changing the Proximity drop down menu in Advanced Search from Document (the default) to search for terms or phrases located within 500 or 1,000 characters, one sentence, or one word of each other.

For example, to search for two exact phrases located within one sentence of each other, place both phrases in quote marks separated by a space (a space = and) and change the Proximity drop down menu to Sentence. In the following illustration, we are searching for the exact phrases “workers’ compensation” and “permanent total disability” located within one Sentence of each other.
