Using CaseCheck

When you select a CaseCheck case (listed as a hyperlink under the CaseCheck heading located to the right of the case you are currently viewing), you will be taken directly to the portion of the case where your initial case was cited.

For example, when viewing 982 P.2d 970, Calver vs. Hinson, you will see 43 P.3d 831, Schwartz v. Abay; 36 P.3d 300, In re R.B.S.; and 4 P.3d 1149, Wilkinson v. Shoney's, Inc., listed under the CaseCheck heading [see Illustration 1, below].

If you click on the 43 P.3d 831 link under CaseCheck, you will be taken directly to Page 834 where the Calver case is cited in red [see Illustration 2, below].

Reminder: CaseCheck provides a list of the cases that cite the case you are currently viewing. The cases are listed in chronological order, with the newest cases at the top of the list. Keep in mind, however, that this list of cases is limited. It only includes all relevant cases from the database from which you are looking. For example, if you are viewing a Kansas case (in the “Case Law” database), your CaseCheck list will include only Kansas cases within the scope of Casemaker coverage (Supreme Court from 1945 and Court of Appeals from 1977).
