KBA ELDER LAW HOTLINE VOLUNTEER FORM |
| Join your colleagues in the Kansas Bar Association in providing legal services to ages 60+ Kansans. The Kansas Elder Law Hotline is a project of Kansas Legal Services, Inc., which is funded in part by the Kansas Bar Foundation and Kansas Bar Association. The Hotline is available to persons who live in Kansas who are age 60 or older. There is no income eligibility to participate in this program. Volunteers can expect to talk to clients of widely varying economic and social backgrounds. The Hotline provides Kansas senior citizens access to an attorney to advise them about legal questions in civil cases and referrals to other resources for additional assistance. All volunteers with malpractice insurance will be listed in a special elder law referral panel of the Kansas Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral Service at no charge. You will be referred elder law clients from your area with a wide array of cases that match your experience. LRS rules (including remitting 10% of fees over $300) apply to this elder LRS panel. The Elder Law Hotline asks that attorneys volunteer a three ½ hour block of time every other month. Calls will be transferred to your office, along with demographic information about each client. |
